SCDC Supporting Communities Programme: People, Planning and Place
/Application process now closed
We’re offering help to community organisations involved in community-led action planning and strengthening community engagement.
The support provided as part of our Supporting Communities programme will help you to:
Strengthen your community engagement, in particular with those whose voices are least heard
Design, deliver or update community-led action planning in your area
Ensure your action plan priorities influence local public services
Improve your knowledge about rights for communities to participate in local decision making and service reform
The support will involve advice, appropriate training and facilitation of partnership working.
Who is the support for?
Community organisations who play leading roles in their communities, sometimes called ‘anchor organisations’. These can take a co-ordinating role in their communities and help strengthen other groups and work for change locally.
Some examples include:
Community Councils
Community Benefit Companies
Housing Associations
Community Development Trusts
Tenants and Residents Associations
Community Projects and Organisations
Groups working together in wider networks and partnerships
What do I need to do?
Support will be offered on a first come first served basis. Places are limited, and we expect demand to be high.
In the first instance, please use the form below to send us an outline of the support you need and information about your group by Friday 21st of June.
